Sunflower and Dried Cranberry Pralines
Sunflower and dried
cranberry pralines
Damp, humid weather may cause the pralines to remain sticky. If that happens, leave them uncovered and they should dry out after overnight - if they aren't eaten first!

1 pound light brown sugar
½ cup 2% evaporated milk
2 tablespoons sunflower oil
½ cup roasted sunflower kernels
2/3 cup dried cranberries
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Cover a flat surface with an 18-inch sheet of waxed or parchment paper.

In a medium saucepan mix together brown sugar, milk, and oil. Stir over medium heat until mixture reaches a full boil. Boil for 3 minutes without stirring. Immediately remove from heat and add sunflower kernels, cranberries, and vanilla. Stir until mixture starts to thicken and cool- about 5-6 minutes. Using a teaspoon, quickly drop pralines onto waxed paper to cool.
