Shorter-Season Northern Hybrids
Monday, March 28, 2011
filed under: Hybrid Selection/Planting
The following listing was compiled based on responses to The Sunflower’s asking this question of seed companies:
Which of your shorter-season hybrids do you recommend for growers looking at a late planting date (mid- to late June) in the Northern Plains and Canada?
We asked for each hybrid’s name/number, its days to flower and/or days to physiological maturity, and other pertinent details. Keep in mind, of course, that environmental conditions (particularly growing degree days) will affect actual days to bloom and days to maturity at a given location in a given year.
The responding companies (see pdf) are listed here alphabetically.
