CROP & WEATHER COMMENTS Central South Dakota received good rainfall amounts last week relieving a dry situation. The week just completed provided near average heat units but the temperatures the next five days are forecast to be above normal in the Dakotas and Minnesota. The added heat units will be welcome to push the crop to bloom and toward maturity. Overall the crop is about two weeks behind the five year average in the Northern Plains. There are only a few areas with very limited soil moisture in the entire production region. However, most areas would welcome a rain to improve topsoil conditions.
