Sunflower Planting Progress May 31, 2009
6/1/2009
The central sunflower production core of South Dakota has dry topsoil conditions. Areas in south central and SW North Dakota would welcome a rain to incorporate pre-plant herbicides. The corners of NW Kansas/SW Nebraska/NE Colorado received substantial rainfall last week varying from 2 to over 3 inches. Overall, the majority sunflower production region has good to excellent soil moisture.
