High Plains Advanced Cropping School: Sunflowers

Retired NSA Executive Director, Larry Kleingartner will be the keynote speaker at the High Plains Advanced Cropping School: Sunflowers on Aug. 16-17 in Scottsbluff, Neb. The event is an in-depth, field-orientated, hands-on workshop to teach the management of sunflower production including specific to High Plains and Rocky Mountain regions. A special emphasis will be placed on stress related problems that can cause yield reduction. Featured topics include: Sunflower Hybrids and Growth Stages in the High Plains; Herbicide Injury to Sunflowers; Sunflower Insects in the High Plains; Identifying Sunflower Diseases and Distinguishing Among Them; Irrigation and Nutrient Management in Sunflowers; and Sunflower Planting and Harvest Yield Loss Assessment.
